UX Lead, Enterprise Design System

Level: Manager (Supervisor)

Our Enterprise Product organization is seeking a UX Lead to drive and support the implementation of our design system for use across dozens of internal products.

The successful candidate will have a system-first mindset to re-use design patterns across the Enterprise Product portfolio. Our UIs are primarily desktop browser-based applications, including dashboards, DAMs, and scheduling tools, that support NBCU’s global content supply chain. We do not design mobile or consumer-facing UIs.

The UX Lead will help establish and maintain our internal Self-Service portal as an organized, easy-to-understand reference for the design system to meet the needs of product designers, developers, and product managers. The UX Lead will serve as an evangelist for the design system, demonstrating its benefits, encouraging best practices, and helping squads onboard.

  • Lead and manage internal Enterprise Product design system, including: style guide and documentation; component, pattern, and template libraries; and equivalent Sketch templates and symbol libraries

  • Translate complex workflows into user-friendly reusable patterns, or version existing patterns for specific frameworks or use cases

  • Partner with designers and stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage reusable patterns, even when product scope or requirements are fluid

  • Partner with designers and stakeholders to ensure quality control and compliance to design standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI or equivalent experience
• 5 years professional experience in UX/UI design
• 2 years experience working within a design system at an enterprise level
• Experience setting up (and maintaining) design documentation and guidelines
• Hands-on expertise using Sketch, Marvel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, initiative, and attention-to-detail

• Knowledge of Material Design (including React and Angular Material), Salesforce Lightning, and Accessibility guidelines
• Working knowledge of Frontify, Airtable, and Salesforce
