Senior UI Engineer - Content Engineering

Netflix, Los Gatos, California

Leading subscription service for watching TV episodes and movies

Netflix is leading the disruption of internet television. We have the largest global subscription based video on demand entertainment service. Our 100+ million subscribers in more than 190 countries consume over ten billion hours of video every quarter. Netflix is available on more than a 1000 different devices, including personal computers, connected devices, smart phones, tablets and game consoles.

A very important part of the Netflix service is the cloud based media transcoding infrastructure that generates the petabytes of streams and playback to support the growing content catalog and the device footprint. In short, anytime a subscriber is on the service, they are viewing images and streaming content produced in this media cloud. We have a very large scale, massively parallel, highly available compute farm in the Amazon elastic compute infrastructure powered by our purpose built software to serve the complex media processing needs of Netflix. We have also been building out our innovation platforms that facilitate rapid prototyping and rollout of new media formats and user experiences built around these new formats.

We are looking for a UI engineer for the team that is focussed on media processing to support content discovery and merchandising/marketing content on and off the service.
