Senior Software Engineer - Stream Processing Infrastructure

Netflix, Los Gatos, California

Leading subscription service for watching TV episodes and movies

Netflix is the world's leading internet streaming service with over 100 million members in 190 countries. Members are enjoying more than 125 million hours of streamed video per day.
This massive scale translates to hundreds of billions of events generated per day to answer many application and business related questions.  The Stream Processing team is responsible for building common services to collect, transport, analyze, and visualize events. We are currently processing about a trillion events per day. Thinking about our global opportunity and need for scale, we want to build a scalable Stream Processing as a Service (SPaaS) platform for use by engineering teams at Netflix to address real time analysis of these events. We are spearheading a greenfield project, and this is why we need you.

You will have opportunities to innovate and partner with Data Engineering to enable complex real time insights, as well as:

  • Curate or build reusable blocks to analyze streaming data
  • Work on, and contribute to open source software, and have industry impact.
  • Your role will have significant impact at Netflix as you will be building a large scale SPaaS platform for use by engineers at a data-driven company in the cloud.
