As Netflix expands its streaming experience globally, we are faced with complex problems and unique challenges to rapidly and efficiently acquire content. In order to deliver an exciting and engaging experience to millions of users worldwide, we need to be able to capture and curate hundreds of thousands of media assets in a wide variety of types & variations (such as video source files, display imagery, localized audio and subtitles). Netflix scales its content acquisition by collaborating with content and fulfillment partners, creative agencies, and freelancers. Partner Workforce Engineering is responsible to build tools to onboard these partners and freelancers, track partner services and availability, evaluate and capture key metrics, build algorithms to drive our future content development strategy. The scope of this team’s work is rapidly growing and there are many opportunities for impacting Netflix’s growing slate of Original content. We are looking for an expert Backend Engineer to support the team’s evolution in a quickly evolving business.

We would love to work with you if:
You're an expert-level programmer and kept up to date with the evolution of the Object Oriented languages (Java preferred) and related frameworks
You understand the challenges of large scale distributed computing and know how to code for availability, fault tolerance and scalability.
You are experienced in Concurrent, Event-driven systems
You have expertise in building highly scalable, distributed, loosely coupled systems
You advocate for iterative test-driven development
You are a proactive and effective communicator, adept at working with various teams and leading initiatives with little to no direct supervision
Bonus Points if:
You understand build/bake/deploy systems for cloud applications.
You have development experience with Spring, Elasticsearch, and Cassandra.
