Netflix, Los Gatos, California

Leading subscription service for watching TV episodes and movies

Netflix is reinventing how people watch television. Join a team of seasoned engineers and lead the revolution in JavaScript-based TV user interfaces.

We work on cutting edge UI performance problems

  • Performance is a core priority for us
  • The app should start blazingly fast so it feels like a channel switch
  • We engineer for consistent high-FPS so there’s no jank in animations
  • The UI should respond to user interaction within 100ms so it feels responsive
  • We look for ways to squeeze more out of limited memory so we can reach more devices
  • We work with server teams to improve client/server communication so anyone in the world can watch Netflix on their TV even if they’re on a low quality network
  • We use video throughout the app and the UI should remain responsive and smooth as video plays

Trail blaze new techniques and areas of focus

  • You will establish new metrics to track and improve performance
  • Millions of paying customers will experience every day the improvements you make
