The Growth Engineering team is responsible for building and managing highly scalable systems, infrastructure and services to enable global customer acquisition. We are continually building and A/B testing hypotheses to improve the underlying services that drive the customer acquisition experience across our Website, Connected TVs, and Mobile Devices. We are looking for a passionate and talented software engineer who desires to have an impact on tens of millions of users worldwide.
In this position, you will develop Java-based microservices hosted in the AWS cloud. You will build product features and infrastructure improvements whose impact is measured through AB Testing. You will build business logic that determines the signup experience a user sees. You will leverage many technologies to do this including our big data infrastructure. To be successful in this role you must be a quick learner, have proven software development skills, enjoy solving hard problems, enjoy data and metrics-driven optimizations, and work well in small cross-functional teams.
You will need to prioritize tasks, exhibit strong leadership and communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
5+ years of development experience in at least one of these languages: Java, Scala, or C#
Experience working on high-volume server software
Knowledgeable about RESTful API design and implementation
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and non-engineering teams.
BS in Computer Science or related field
Experience in building high-performant, scalable backend services in the cloud (especially AWS)
Experience running A/B tests to optimize the growth of a product
Experience with highly distributed tiered service architectures (a.k.a. "microservices").
Passionate about application scalability, availability, reliability, and security.
Experience with NoSQL databases
Experience with data frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, and Spark
