The Foundations Engineering Team, within Production Engineering, is responsible for building domain specific infrastructure and services that powers the rest of the application platforms within Production Engineering. The team is responsible for ensuring the resiliency and scalability of the critical services and acts as a multiplier for various initiatives.
We are looking for an engineer who:
is hands-on with a bias towards action
possesses top notch verbal and written communication skills
enjoys collaborating with multiple teams on large projects
is self-driven and highly motivated to deliver top-tier solutions with minimal guidance
is able to adapt quickly to business changes in an agile environment
is curious about emerging technologies and can quickly evaluate and adapt to them
Expert level skills in Java (preferred) or other leading Object Oriented programming languages
Expertise in developing with distributed databases like Cassandra and ElasticSearch
Hands-on experience building high volume, resilient services with fault tolerance
Practical understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and the CAP theorem
Experience in developing and deploying microservices for wide/complex domains with telemetry, and setting up monitoring apparatus (dashboards, alerts, etc)
Experience running microservices in leading cloud infrastructure like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.
Working knowledge of dependency injection frameworks like Spring or Guice
Knowledge of resiliency patterns like bulkheads, circuit breakers, fallbacks, and load shedding
Familiarity with RPC frameworks such as gRPC
