Netflix is hiring a Director to manage the social media team for DACH and CEE.

This is a senior, strategy focused position with people management responsibilities and a remit to impact the trajectory of our business in DACH and CEE and beyond.
The director will lead a team of Netflix employees and agency partners, running local, pan-regional and global title and brand campaigns and will need to inspire a highly-skilled team of social experts. It will require senior partnership and collaboration with the content, PR and product teams, and reports to the Director of Social Media, EMEA.

  • Representing some large and very different Netflix markets, this person will need a strategic mindset and good business sense to focus the team and make the brand burn brightly, while also reaching new tranches of consumers across a range of tastes and demographics. The right leader will continue to grow the fandom, spot new areas for experimentation, and increase positive word of mouth in a rapidly changing entertainment and social landscape.

  • Part of the role will be to build - and protect - the Netflix brand, and the other part will be working closely with a broad set of Netflix titles to make them as relevant as possible in the DACH and CEE markets. We’re looking to create cultural phenomena with a local flavor to ignite fan behavior around Netflix and our titles, so need a social director who has impeccable creative taste and a strong instinct for stories that will get consumers talking.

  • The right hire will bring a deep knowledge of the social media landscape and platforms, including bulletproof knowledge not only of their features and technology, but of the related consumer behaviors emerging everyday. The DACH/CEE Director will have 10 years of marketing/communications experience with some combination of consumer brand, media and entertainment, plus several years experience managing internal and agency teams.
The role is based in our EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam and will require regular trips to Germany.
