Production Finance Executive - Post Accounting - Film

We are seeking an experienced Production Accountant to manage our feature film post accounting department. This will be a full time position with the Netflix Production Finance team reporting to the Original Film Production Finance team leader. This job will provide Netflix benefits (not MPIPHW)

The Role:
A successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is passionate about building the post accounting department of tomorrow. They will manage a team of freelance accountants and seamlessly take over show facing relationships from the production accountant providing the same exceptional level of support that the producer has become accustom to receiving. From prior experience, this candidate must understand the need for a dynamic post accounting department and be able to innovate to achieve success.

He or she must be able to manage several freelance post accountants. The candidate must be proactive, entrepreneurial, passionate about content and physical production, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary, thorough, non political, able to work well within a flat organizational business structure, has impeccable ethics, is able to juggle multiple and diverse projects with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times.  

Responsibilities: (include but not limited to):

  • Oversee the handoff of all aspects of production accounting from production to post. Manage all of these functions for the remaining life of the project.
  • Reconciling Netflix Studio GL costs and funding to production accounting system ledgers
  • Completing production incentive applications, final submission and providing additional documentation and explanations for incentive auditors
  • Coordinating pre-show wrap handover meetings and final show handover
  • Ensuring production accounting transactional source documentation is scanned using DSSI and available on OnBase
  • Coordinating and tracking timeline for shredding of production accounting documents at Iron Mountain     
  • Collaborate on Policies and Procedures to ensure best practices
  • Cash flow forecasting and management for shows in wrap
  • Work with Physical Production on Asset Management and Disposition
  • Ensure freelance production accountants system application and bank access is terminated upon wrap


  • BA/BS Degree
  • 10 Years + experience as a Lead Production Accountant or Controller on Film
  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment simultaneously supervising several projects in various points of pre-production or wrap
  • Ability to respond after-hours for important, timely or urgent matters
  • Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current production processes, compliance, tools, equipment, incentives, talent and crew
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency prefered in Movie Magic Budgeting, Entertainment Partners Vista, Cast & Crew PSL, Smart Accounting
