The Android team sits at the intersection of this global growth, compounded with an ever-increasing mobile usage for content consumption. 

The Android Platform team is responsible for the playback, download, authentication, and networking infrastructure that powers the product experience. You will be part of a team with a diverse set of technical skills that partners cross-functionally with our product, device security, encoding, and data science teams.  We also work closely with Google, silicon vendors, and device manufacturers to ensure an amazing experience across a wide range of Android devices.

What skills are important to us?

  • We value aptitude over experience but here are some key skills that will make you successful on this team:
  • High degree of proficiency in optimizing the performance of Android apps.
  • Expertise with Java, Kotlin, C++.
  • Understanding of Android’s media stack, ExoPlayer, and graphics framework.
  • Experience with Android NDK.
  • Networking expertise in TCP, QUIC, and cellular technologies.
  • Experience working with Widevine.
  • Experience writing automated tests on Android and its usage in a short feedback cycle continuous integration environment.
