The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Public Relations professional based in Los Angeles who is an expert publicity strategist with an understanding of the different countries, cultures & idiosyncrasies of the markets in the Latin America region.  This position offers the chance to help shape the publicity strategy for Netflix original series and films in Latin America, working with a team that is transforming entertainment through quality series and films that launch worldwide with all episodes available at once, and an innovative platform that enables viewers to watch anytime, on any device. With popular series such as Marvel’s Daredevil, Orange is the New Black, Narcos and many more.

The Role

The Director will help create, shape, execute and manage Latin American campaigns for series and films, adapting global strategies for the needs of their markets and making use of multiple earned media channels, including broadcast, print and online. They will focus on creating cultural moments and high impact campaigns, explore new tactics of promoting series, and will be able to communicate different facets of their campaigns to agencies and other audiences across Netflix. She or he will manage a team of publicists, based in Hollywood, who work with agencies in region (where applicable) to pitch media, secure opportunities and cover set visits or help plan and work junkets.  He/she will serve as the expert on the regions they manage, able to convey cultural needs and nuances that impact the global campaign. They can formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into their process successfully. Pack your bag because travel is a requirement.

They will collaborate closely with our Content, Brand PR, Marketing and Social teams to create big wins in the region. He/she will work in lockstep with the US originals publicity team that handles the global strategies for aforementioned campaigns. He/she will also oversee publicity efforts for our growing slate of original series produced in Latin America, including Club de Cuervos, 3%, Ingobernable and more. This position will be part of the originals publicity leadership team, helping direct the activities of the department and determining overall strategy and budgeting, with input into awards, events, internal communications, talent relations and more.

Successful candidates will have a candid and direct communication style, they are willing to admit to mistakes quickly and question values inconsistent with our values and Netflix culture. They understand that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news, and they’re tactful in handling such issues.


The successful candidate for the role will likely possess 7+ years in corporate or agency settings. Of particular interest are candidates with Broad knowledge of TV, international publicity, entertainment, pop culture & lifestyle trends, etc. in general and Latin America.

Succinct Communicator
Great writer and talker. Can organize, summarize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately. Has a quick intelligence, is fast on the feet and quickly responds to issues and questions. Doesn’t need to “check with the agency” on every issue or for every answer. Says it like it is; not wrapped in political niceties.

Pragmatic, Organized and Detailed
Has a big capacity to both think and ‘do’. Flourishes in a ‘hands on’ role, adding value at different levels. Is strong on detail, highly organized and drama-free.

A Smart Minimalist
Keeps things simple. Knows that global communications can be made complex---and will resist and prevent that. Does not need or desire big budgets for big results. Believes one great person on the team is more valuable than 3 to 5 OK people---and wants to be that great person.

Has a Point of View
An independent thinker willing and able to express and support a point of view.
PaceMoves at a nice clip and enjoys having multiple projects going at once. Can change course, be scrappy and get things done on short timeframes.

Ability to speak/write in Spanish & English is essential. Portuguese is a plus.
