Quality Assurance Specialist to SKAIS

Nortal, Estonia, Tartu

Building a Seamless Society

Your challenge as a QA will be to take part in the whole delivery process from analysis to live support. This includes technical testing, writing test cases as well as communicating with the customer. You will be responsible for designing and implementing tests but also tracking quality assurance metrics to ensure that the code is stable and meets stakeholders expectations. You'll be mainly working on additional benefit for fathers but also with other SKAIS sub-projects.

We are using Spring Boot, Spring Data, Micrometer and Java 11. Our E2E tests are written on top of RestAssured, front-end tests with Cypress and everything else with plain old JUnit5. Angular 6 is used to build our micro-frontends and our data platform is currently Oracle centric, but will eventually grow to harness a wider range of products. We value high levels of automation, testing and monitoring to ensure the high level of quality we strive for.

Join our 30+ team in building a business-critical information system for Estonian Social Insurance Board — undoubtedly one of the most high-impact, complex and large-scale projects in Estonia over the years to come. Social Insurance Board’s system will serve approximately 700,000 people monthly, distributing more than €2 billion and making up approximately 20% of the country’s annual budget each year.

Main responsibilities:

  • Above all making sure that the code we ship is stable, conforms to specifications, and meets stakeholder expectations;
  • Testing all aspects of the software including, but not limited to, performance, usability, and compatibility with business requirements;
  • Reporting issues to JIRA in a clear and understandable format, monitoring and updating the issues as needed;
  • Providing assistance in improving the day-to-day QA processes, procedures, and best practices;
  • Working closely with developers and analysts to support our customer with more complex issues

You'll be a perfect fit if you:

  • have strong experience as a manual software tester;
  • have solid experience with exploratory testing;
  • have basic skills with Postman or equivalent to REST API interfaces;
  • enjoy communicating within the team and with the client;
  • perceive the big picture as well as spot the details in it;
  • are punctual in writing documentation and meeting deadlines;
  • are fluent in spoken and written Estonian;
  • Have knowledge of SQL, version control, and Agile development principles;
  • and most importantly – have passion for what you do.

We offer you:

  • Opportunity to grow through challenging and interesting work, frequent training sessions and learning from skilled colleagues;
  • A clear career path corresponding with your ambitions. We encourage and provide you with opportunities to move to a more senior position;
  • Support for taking certification courses and exams, and participating in relevant conferences;
  • A comfortable office environment that allows you to focus on work and recharge yourself;
  • Flexible working hours and annual salary raises;
  • Lunches with the team, participation in Nortal’s legendary events, team-building and trips, conferences and room for spontaneous ideas and joint activities.
