Sr. Manager/Director, Engineering Technical Program Management (Remote Eligible)

As the Sr. Manager/Director, Engineering Technical Program Management for Core Identity, you will be a leader within and at the forefront of the Product Engineering organization to build and deliver the most critical Identity-related end-user products and initiatives. You and your team will lead key complex cross-functional programs optimizing effectiveness and execution efficiency across all of the product development. 

You will partner with Product Management, Design, and Engineering leaders and other cross-functional teams to drive the Core Identity roadmap that directly impacts Okta’s customer’s experience. You will be the point person for clarifying strategic level goals and outlining the execution plans to achieve them in a rapidly growing environment. Employing both a strategic and tactical approach is a requirement in this role. You will not only have strong TPM, people management, and leadership experience but also be an expert in software Agile practices and flow at the team and enterprise level within a SaaS environment.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive product life cycle from ideation to launch including structure, kick-off, and run continuous and/or time-bound programs enabling the execution of features and products with full transparency.
  • Lead large-size integration and complex cross-functional initiatives with a significant number of dependencies.
  • Build and maintain alignment across multiple organizations for keeping a focus on execution, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the introduction of new processes/workflows, to benefit Engineering and Product teams or cross-organizational initiatives, by bringing proposed solutions to the teams and rolling them out in an iterative manner.
  • Ability to grow and expand the roles and responsibilities in a rapidly changing and growing environment. 
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to scale up products and talents in a challenging and fast-growing environment Okta is in.

 Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven change management experience - able to successfully roll out operational / process changes, address feedback, and achieve adoption.  
  • Strong Technical program management experience in a software, SaaS, or systems development environment – kicking off and managing cross-organizational programs.
  • Proven success managing a team of people with clear metrics and accountability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; experience effectively communicating and presenting to teams located across different locations and people ranging from individual team members to C-level executives.
  • Strong leadership skills; able to successfully influence without authority.
  • Strong leadership skills; Able to independently influence and resolve conflicts with others.
  • Experience working in a startup environment desired.
  • Self-starter; able to work well in an ambiguous and constantly changing, fast-paced environment.

 Education and Training:

* Bachelor’s degree, Preferred
