The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technical field service engineer to help scale our fleet of autonomous vehicles. You will integrate with the team based in our Boston HQ and support deployments through remote and on-site vehicle work and training of local deployment staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support through the performance of on-site training of staff, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex electromechanical systems
  • Perform testing, support failure diagnosis and review and implement corrective action
  • Perform retrofits, preventive maintenance and in-field service including installation of software technical updates
  • Act as the primary technical support contact for field locations
  • Provide feedback to local site operations, support deployed vehicles and gather product failure data and deficiencies
  • Provide feedback to design teams as end user representative. Communicate deficiencies, desired updates, and configuration change requests
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and configurations in accordance with customer program requirements

Requirements

  • Clear communicator who can remotely coach associates of varying experience in troubleshooting and repairs
  • Able to work under pressure and in an environment where priorities can change frequently
  • Comfortable operating tools working in, around, and under a car
  • Able to lift and transfer a 40lb object
  • Able to complete a visual assessment of the vehicle and/or parts
  • Requires travel, including on short notice

Bonus

  • Experience working with automated vehicles and/or robotics
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with electrical cable assembly techniques, including soldering
