Optimus Ride headquarters are located in the Boston Seaport District. Our team hails from a diverse set of backgrounds, and cumulatively has decades of experience building self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles, manufacturing robots, surgical robots, autonomous drones, underwater robots, and more. We are looking for software developers with deep expertise designing and implementing robust and high performance network applications and services. Optimus Ride software engineers create the software at the heart of our vehicles and systems. Our software needs to process complex data-flows and make decisions with real world consequences.
You will join a team of engineers working on hardware and platforms upon which all of our software operates to create the foundation for the advancements we are making in self driving technologies. At Optimus Ride, we strive for an open and collaborative engineering culture where engineers share with, learn from, and support each other. You will exercise the skills that you have developed while acquiring and developing new ones relevant to an exciting new field. You will work with state of the art hardware and software, collaborate closely with all of the engineering teams, and build systems to make self driving cars a reality.
Develop high-performance network systems to support remote monitoring and control of our self-driving vehicles
Create network infrastructure standards that are robust and secure
Design and test software to be robust in a range of network conditions making trade-offs between latency, bandwidth, validity
Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop network systems capable of robust real-time communications
Deploy and maintain back-end systems and infrastructure
Design and implement security best-practices
Collaborate closely with other engineers to find elegant solutions to difficult problems
BS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Proficient in Python, and C++Experience with video capture libraries (e.g. ffmpeg, GStreamer)
Experience with real-time communications (e.g. WebRTC, HLS, WebSockets, RTSP)
Experience designing and implementing micro-services deployed to cloud infrastructure
Experience with optimizing network performance
Excellent communication skills
Interest and ability to learn additional skills and technologies as required
Experience with IoT programming and management
