The Role

As the GL Accountant for Payroll, you will partner closely with the payroll operations and international accounting teams and will be responsible for the accounting of payroll and payroll-related expenses and liability accounts. You will be responsible for closing the books monthly as well as building out related internal controls, automation and process improvements. Core Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries to record payroll activity in the accounting system for US and International subsidiaries.
Book payroll-related liability accounts such as bonus and vacation.
Review and reconcile payroll clearing accounts and employee benefits.
Implement and document improvements to the payroll reconciliation procedures to facilitate growth, scalability and improved compliance.
Serve as point person for all payroll-related financial audit requests, and support the payroll operations team with accounting knowledge.
Partner with Finance team to perform flux analysis as part of month-end close process and advise on accounting for related transactions.
Perform an annual payroll reasonableness test.

What We Value

At least 3 years of payroll related or accounting experience; experience in partnering and working with international payroll is a plus.
Degree in Accounting required.
Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly analytical, with strong problem solving ability.
Attention to detail and organizational skills; accuracy in work products and an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
NetSuite, Workday, ADP and Safeguard experiences are a plus.
