Manufacturing Engineer - Systems

As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team at Penumbra, you will be called upon to solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions. You will provide robust solutions aimed at commercializing new products and continuously improving production processes. While working in the Systems group, you will be collaborating cross-functionally with engineering groups across the company, as well as with Production, Marketing, and Clinical. You will resolve problems throughout the business and will apply your creativity to implement adaptations and modifications throughout Penumbra!

What Success Looks Like

  • Discover and solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Be the liaison between manufacturing and IT for system improvement projects with your deep understanding of software processes
  • Use your creativity to oversee projects to completion
  • Execute detailed root cause analysis and recommend vetted solutions
  • Communicate and explain problems and solutions cross-functionally and inter-departmentally
  • Present independent recommendations for project approach, scope, and tactics
  • Create and maintain product and process documentation
  • Monitor process and equipment performance and identify and implement process improvement activities to increase/optimize yield
  • Author protocols to execute tests and write reports and make conclusions and/or recommendations based on test results
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work as part of a project or as a total project
  • Develop, characterize, and optimize processes using statistical techniques and engineering knowledge and experience
  • Coordinate with the appropriate suppliers and other external resources needed in developing and implementing process improvement plans
  • Comply with quality system regulations, standards and procedures

What You Bring

  • A passion for tackling and solving technical problems
  • Experience managing MES projects (Camstar preferred)
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment where navigating grey areas is a welcomed challenge
  • The ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, compelling manner, both orally and in writing
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical device industry
  • Proven track record of overseeing projects to completion is required
  • BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven understanding of quality, operational, and financial systems
