We’re looking for a strong backend engineer to join our Ads Engineering team. The team you'll be joining is responsible not only for a mature platform that facilitates all of Pinterest’s revenue processing, but it also works on greenfield projects in the Shopping and Creator spaces that would be vital to the long term growth of the company. The ideal candidate should have experience building backend systems and pipelines, be driven to become a technical expert in their domain, and have a passion for engineering quality.

What you’ll do:

Serve on the implementation team responsible for revenue critical workflows related to billing and payments processing associated Pinterest monetization efforts in Ads, Shopping and Creator spaces
Participate in design and architectural plans of engineering projects to address long-term business needs
Collaborate with Finance, Payments, Product and Engineering teams to shape product design and specifications

What we’re looking for:

Experience building and owning large-scale backend systems
3+ years of professional development experience
Experience with SQL queries and database systems
Professional development experience working in Python and/or Java
Strong technical skills. Ability to dive into new stacks and codebases to form a deep understanding of our system as well as ability to architect large-scale systems from scratch
