As a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Cloud Gaming Engineering and Infrastructure team is leading the cloud gaming revolution, putting console-quality video games on any device.

The Senior Software Engineer position is a hands-on engineering role for someone who likes working in small teams and with other sharp engineers in a success-oriented, fast-paced, international and fun environment.

 

Responsibilities

Design and development of:

  • Network storage architecture
  • Distributed systems

 

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or 10 years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant programming experience in C/C++
  • 5+ years of experience in (network) storage
  • 5+ years device driver development / operating system engineering

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Strong debugging / troubleshooting skills
  • Experience developing a distributed systems architecture
  • Network storage e.g. Ceph, NFS, iSCSI, NVMe over Fabrics
  • Linux

 

Additional attributes

  • Software as a service
  • Hardware server design
  • Python / shell scripting
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Understanding of Japanese language and culture
