SIE's Information Development Services team is looking for an out-of-the-box thinker to help us develop CSS, HTML, XSLT, and XSL-FO stylesheets for automated XML publishing. You will be working as part of an agile team focused on delivering on-time, quality deliverables.
XSL Transformations (XSLT) is a standard way to describe how to transform (change) the structure of an XML (Extensible Markup Language) document into an XML document with a different structure. XSLT is a Recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
XSL Formatting Objects, or XSL-FO, is a markup language for XML document formatting which is most often used to generate PDFs. XSL-FO is part of XSL (Extensible Stylesheet Language), a set of W3C technologies designed for the transformation and formatting of XML data. The other parts of XSL are XSLT and XPath.
Reporting to the Information Development Services (IDS) manager, you will be responsible for developing XSLT XSL-FO stylesheets based on standards developed by the IDS team.
• Experience in software development and/or web development
• Good programming skills, proficiency in writing code and automation scripts
• Team player who is excited to integrate into our team of highly-specialized and experienced information developers
• Quick learner who pays attention to details
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills, fluent in both spoken and written English
• Advantage: XSLT, XPATH, XSL-FO, DITA, DITA-OT, ANT
• Advantage: Experience with structured content authoring
