Accounting Manager

San Mateo, CA 

SIE seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Accounting Manager, the position will be key in the development and establishment of financial processes and leveraging our SAP system, within a growing and dynamic company. This is a hands-on individual who will work closely with engineering and marketing functions in San Mateo, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, New York, London and Tokyo. The reports into Senior Manager of Accounting and may require occasional travel within the USA. The responsibilities listed are not all inclusive and additional duties may be assigned. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Fixed Assets Reconciliation including reviewing asset purchases for capitalization and useful life; role will be required to support audit requirements including asset counts at data centers.
  • Responsible for evaluating contracts and applying technical accounting in relation to Fixed Asset Impairments, Advances, Pre-payments; ensuring appropriate treatment and recognition at all times
  • Responsible for Prepaid Expense including reviewing hosting and licensing agreements
  • Responsible for Marketing (Advertising & Promotion) Expense Tracking including reviewing activity based plans with marketing department
  • Responsible for the all general expenses and OPEX analysis and investigation
  • Responsible for driving cost control across business in collaboration with Corporate Planning
  • Responsible for all operating expense accruals & provisions
  • Responsible for preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for review and sign-off monthly financial journal entries
  • Support the preparation & review of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecast, and corporate submissions
  • Support the financial close process in line with close schedule & deadlines (WD3)
  • Support financial compliance (Internal & External Audit, Controls, and Procedures)
  • Team management of 1-2 accountants including performance management (appraisals, objectives, development, and recruitment). 

Qualification

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting, both private and public accounting a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance related discipline.
  • CPA or International Equivalent, with SOX experience required.
  • Experience of general ledger and monthly close process desirable.
  • US GAAP knowledge.
  • SAP experience desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience working across a global business within multi-cultural working environment.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Excels in the areas of written and oral communication including strong presentation skills. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Digital content & services or entertainment industry preferred.
  • Experience designing & implementing standard financial process & systems.
  • Excels in the areas of written and oral communication including strong presentation skills.
