Sr. Software Engineer (Network Back-end)

Responsibilities:

  • Understand existing network architecture and configurations
  • Closely work with network engineers/operators to identify areas of automation improvement
  • Design and implement software frameworks and tools to facilitate configuration and management of our production networks
  • Design and implement frameworks to integrate network metrics with statistical analysis and business intelligence reporting.
  • Work with front-end teams to implement visualizations of network topology and various statistics

 Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux programming environments
  • Proficiency in Python or Java programming language
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming
  • Working knowledge of version control tools such as git
  • Familiarity with Web technologies such as REST, JSON, gRPC, protobufs, NETCONF etc.
  • Familiarity with network protocols such as Ethernet, BGP, ISIS, SNMP, etc.
  • Experience with MySQL, HBase, MongoDb is a plus

 Desired Skills and Experience

  • Expert level knowledge of Linux
  • Familiarity with distributed systems architecture and cluster computing
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery
  • Familiarity with build systems

 Additional Attributes

  • Gamer is a plus
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
