The Identity Platform Team builds scalable, highly performant authentication and authorization services for our customers to access the PlayStation Network. We are the “front door” to the entire ecosystem of gaming, social and entertainment experiences that our customers love.

We are looking for an experienced engineer who will own several key areas of our platform to help define an engineering vision and build the future state. You should have strong technical abilities, demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire your team to achieve outstanding results in a fast-paced environment. You have previously built and led strong teams of hardworking engineers and you enjoy working with exceptional people. You will be responsible for your several core services and must be able to make tough decisions to balance technical and business priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and design of complex, high-volume, cross-team engineering projects deployed in the cloud to provide the best gaming experience for our customers.
  • Lead multiple concurrent engineering projects. Estimate, plan, and slice projects to deliver frequent value to production while ensuring best engineering practices are met.
  • Collaborate across business units and product teams to develop and execute against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Use technical expertise and industry trends to drive engineering roadmap and mentor a dedicated team of engineers to elevate engineering standards and deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of experience in developing business critical software using Enterprise Java/J2EE, Web Services, REST, JSON/XML, expert level of object-oriented programming analysis and design
  • Experience with servlet containers (e.g., Tomcat), JAXRS, Spring, and related technologies
  • Proficient in software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to take a project from scoping requirements to actual launch of project in production at scale
  • Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, concurrency, and complexity analysis.
  • Experience building high performance, active-active, scalable production services in Java
  • Strong expertise with relational and non-relational database technologies and data modeling.
  • Experience in deploying, operating, and managing services in AWS or other cloud environment.
  • Experience with micro service architectures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with implementing solutions that integrate identity and access management.
  • Experience with authentication protocols e.g. OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
  • Experience with fraud detection platforms and bot mitigation strategies
