PixelOpus, creator of the award-winning action-adventure PS4 game Concrete Genie, is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting an exciting new PlayStation 5 title in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.

PixelOpus is one of 16 Global Game Development Studios within the PlayStation Studios family. Located at PlayStation's HQ in San Mateo, CA, this unique studio is looking for an experienced Game UI/UX Designer who’s excited to join our growing studio team. You will report to the Lead Game Designer, and will be part of the PixelOpus design team.

Job Requirements:

  • Design all of our game’s UI elements (e.g. screens, menus, HUD) so they’re easy to understand and navigate
  • Producing high-quality UX solutions through wireframes, designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, and prototypes
  • Partner closely with Art and Engineering Teams to determine presentation of all UI elements
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders, including the Creative Director and Lead Game Designer
  • Work closely with Design, Audio, Art, Engineering, and Production staff on team
  • Work closely with User Research Lab, Localization, and Accessibility staff external to team
  • Help plan and coordinate external playtests in collaboration with our world class User Research Lab
  • Conduct dev team playtests/surveys for new levels and features as they come online
  • Analyze problems found in playtesting, write reports, and work with game designers to recommend solutions
  • Help the team empathize with users, constantly advocating for usability and accessibility


  • 2+ years of game industry experience in a UX Design role
  • 1+ games shipped in a UX Design role
  • Proven ability to innovate and design exceptional user experiences
  • Portfolio of your UI/UX design work (inc wireframes) with clear contributions to discuss
  • Strong visual sense and visual communication skills
  • Passionate about usability and accessibility, with a strong understanding of user focused design principles (HCI, UX design)
  • Good technical knowledge to understand what is and isn't possible
  • Playtesting experience on a released product preferred
  • Bonus points if you can wear UI artist or UI engineer hat/s too
