Senior Software Engineer - PlayStation Vue

Location: San Francisco, CA (SoMa District)

PlayStation Vue is the “cheat code” to better TV! As an over-the-top “OTT” Internet television service it combines live television, on-demand video, and cloud-based DVR to stream TV shows, movies, and sports directly to a PlayStation console or other supported devices (without a cable or satellite TV subscription).

The Vue Cloud Services team is looking for smart team players who are obsessed with building fast, scalable and robust web services to help deliver delightful TV experiences to our customers.

What We Are Looking For:

Engineering Excellence: You have a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and at least 7 years of experience developing high-performance and scalable web services of development experience in Java (or equivalent OO language). You have strong OO designing skills and you are a hands-on coder with a passion to solve challenging problems. If you have working knowledge of Spring,  Jersey, NoSQL Databases then that is an added plus.

Passion for Quality: You believe that delivering services with high quality is the cornerstone of building trust with customers and you use good judgment to balance shipping as fast as possible and building products in a sustainable manner.

Ownership and Accountability: You care for the services that you and your team build and that care shows when you raise your hand to do whatever it takes to resolve unexpected issues affecting your customers.

Leadership: You lead by example with your high quality work and so other team members try to emulate you. You look for opportunities to mentor and guide junior team members to help them grow by providing feedback on their design and code. You draw upon your experiences to teach them best practices and the pitfalls to lookout for.

Team Player: You understand that building great products and services requires both individual excellence and team excellence and you are always eager to bounce ideas and brainstorm solutions with your teammates and across the organization on common problems that have a broad impact.
