As a Senior Accounting Manager at Postmates, you will play an integral role in establishing and maintaining financial processes to drive timely and accurate financial reporting. You will be a leader of a growing, and dynamic finance and accounting team at a pre-IPO company experiencing hyper-growth.

The ideal candidate will take initiative to identify opportunities for improvement as well as design and implement those improvements. The candidate also will have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a broad range of people with different backgrounds and perspectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Responsible for supporting the full cycle general ledger monthly close process and related activities to ensure accounts are properly reconciled and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage/coordinate regular closing activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations and financial review and analysis. Ensure deadlines are met in accordance with company’s policies and procedures
  • Drive process improvement and automation efforts across all areas of Finance
  • Draft and implement key policies and procedures
  • Partner closely with FP&A around monthly variance analysis
  • Serve as key point of contact for external auditors related to the financial statement audit
  • Oversee and direct disbursements department, including payroll, ensuring expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in growth companies
  • Public company experience
  • CPA, or equivalent qualification with US GAAP experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Deep U.S. GAAP technical knowledge
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve creatively and meet expanding business needs as circumstances require
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work with others and to execute tasks
  • Ability to work in a paperless environment, with intermediate to advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team setting in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience supervising and developing staff in disbursements department, including payroll
  • Experience with NetSuite (preferred)
