About the Role

We are looking for applied scientists to bring our Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence R&D and strategy to the next level.  Our goal is to personalize the Qualtrics experience using ML and AI features showcasing Qualtrics data as a core value proposition and competitive advantage.

As an Applied Scientist at Qualtrics, you should love building simple solutions to solve hard customer problems. In addition, you will:

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to research, implement, evaluate, optimize, productize and maintain cutting-edge machine learning models to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business
• Stay on top of the latest developments in machine learning and related research, and present research findings with the broader community
• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from other specialists, engineers, and product managers
• Lead and engage in design reviews, modelling discussions, requirement definitions and other technical activities in diverse capacity
• Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to your customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or other advanced degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering with 5+ years of industrial experience in at least one of the following fields:
• Natural language processing: text labeling and classification, text understanding, question answering, dialogue systems, entity extraction and reasoning, knowledge graph, etc.
• Time series modelling: forecasting, anomaly detection
• Machine learning: deep learning, distributed machine learning, large-scale optimization, Bayesian probabilistic inference
• Data mining: information extraction, recommender systems, knowledge/pattern discovery, anomaly/churn detection
• Computer vision: image classification, object detection, segmentation

• Expert in conducting state-of-the-art research, system design, and applying novel techniques to live production systems
• Experience with managing, processing and analysing large, complex, multi-modal and unstructured datasets
• Experience in machine learning systems (e.g. SageMaker, MLFlow), and deep learning frameworks  (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet etc) 
• Strong publication record in top-tier ML conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, SIGIR, ICLR, KDD etc.)
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
