Software Engineer - Frontend

Frontend engineers at Quora are champions of building an extraordinary user experience across our web and mobile platforms. As a frontend expert, you'll work closely with product designers and fellow engineers to accelerate our product and business growth, across areas such as:

- Monetization: helping connect businesses with people who would benefit from their offerings, through a suite of advertiser tools and dashboards for optimizing and understanding their campaigns.

- Content Distribution: helping create a coherent feed and notification frontend abstraction to support many different use cases and enable seamless user interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on a product team focused on a major user-facing area of Quora.
  • Design and implement complex web applications supporting massive scale with data-driven iteration.
  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and fellow Software Engineers to prototype, iterate on, and scale user-facing products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of full-time experience building highly interactive, user-facing web applications
  • 2+ years of full-time experience with multi-browser support and testing
  • Deep knowledge of frontend web technologies, especially JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UI testing tools like Puppeteer or Selenium
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery and React
  • Familiarity with Python or similar language
  • Experience optimizing the client-side performance of web applications
  • Experience with LESS or SASS
