As an early member of the pricing team, this is a significant opportunity to impact the direction of pricing at Remitly and the trajectory of the company as a whole.

What you’ll be doing:

As a member of the Data Team, you will partner with Treasury, Finance, and Marketing to do analysis, formulate strategies, and build products that power the future of the pricing and treasury programs. In this capacity you’ll get to solve a broad range of problems from designing high level Treasury strategies to the code implementation of statistical models. The most successful candidates will have the ability to address problems spanning business, statistics, pricing, forecasting and financial modeling.

As a key analytical resource for the Treasury Team, you will evaluate new strategies, understand core economics, and identify areas for potential improvements. You will also own the measurement of the performance of the treasury program and will represent the team in weekly business reviews. Additionally, you will be helping to develop the future of forecasting tools for Treasury Operations and ensure our Treasury processes scale with our growing global business. The Treasury process touches every transaction at Remitly, and your work will be critical to us delivering on our promises to customers.

You will also assist in developing strategies to co-optimize pricing and treasury decisions in existing markets. You will think critically about the interaction between our pricing decisions and treasury operations and use these insights to drive enterprise value. Your decisions will have a significant impact on Remitly’s bottom line. As a quantitative expert, you will also provide statistical and analytical expertise and guidance to other teams including Treasury and Marketing.

Who we are looking for:

  • Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. 4+ years of experience applying statistics, predictive modeling and machine learning that resulted in data-driven business decisions.
  • Comfort using Python or R to do analysis, and SQL to manipulate data
  • Most qualified candidates will have a diverse set of skills ranging from general analytics to statistics and programming, however their defining characteristics will be strong business intuition and good judgement.
  • Presentation skills - this is a high-visibility role, and you must be comfortable presenting and sharing your decisions and analysis to senior business leaders. We look for the ability to present complex concepts and synthesize those learnings into a clear narrative that influences stakeholders  to take action.
  • Desire to be an owner of a highly impactful part of our business - because the decisions made by this role directly affect the exchange rate we are giving customers, we look for candidates who can demonstrate responsiveness and commitment to delivering on promises.
