Ring.com is looking for a Product Development Manager to provide both technical and project management for Ring’s product development. Own a product from inception to launch, overseeing software and hardware requirements, development and test.
 
The ideal candidate is well versed in software development from requirements management to design, test, prototype and volume manufacturing as well as a good Consumer Electronics Hardware background .  Candidate should also be familiar with basic software development concepts, Agile project management, and using Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering product requirements gathering and translation from business, engineering, and system requirements and objectives
  • Running team meetings and maintaining schedules across Firmware, Backend and Apps
  • Planning and scheduling of firmware, software, and quality assurance while aligning with hardware, certification and factory ramp up
  • Monitor and maintain/track performance objectives
  • Being the primary contact for the product for all technical, performance and schedule items
  • Understand the end to end product and corresponding software features, from device to cloud and mobile app

Required Skills

  • Experience in taking consumer electronic products through development, test and mass production
  • Experienced team leading and project leadership
  • Software project management experience including Firmware, Backend and Apps
  • Software design project management experience, for example Agile and waterfall management, bug tracking
  • Experience defining features and creating tickets 
  • Technical problem resolution
  • Creating, tracking and driving schedules
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision. Positive, good team player and able to motivate others
  • Familiar with using Linux and understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking concepts preferred

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject, or equivalent experience
  • Proven software development experience and web development skills
  • Java Script and Angular Application experience

Work Experience and Education

  • 6 years industry experience designing and managing software for consumer electronics products
  • B.S. or in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Proven software development experience and web development skills
  • Java Script and Angular Application experience
