Who we're looking for:

Rover currently has 300 employees working for us 2 offices in Washington State, with more expansion on the way. We have built a positive and inviting culture which we are both proud of and eager to scale. We are seeking our first HR Generalist to join our growing Spokane office.  The ideal candidate for this role is an expert in fostering positive work cultures for high performing teams. They are both hands on and strategic, innovative and practical. They are able to manage complex ER issues in ways which are consistent with our company values and empathetic to our employees.

Initially, the ideal candidate will wear two hats, handing HR escalations as they occur and temporarily occupying the Office Manager function until we are large enough to hire additional support. They will have the opportunity to help us shape and grow our Spokane office both form a culture and facilities perspective.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive and productive work environment for our employees
  • Create new processes and policies which will help us scale our culture as we grow
  • Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • File EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Maintain company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Handle ER issues in ways which are consistent with our core values
  • Be the liaison between HR, Legal and our Business Partners
  • Help us create HR strategies and activities which foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years work experience in an HR Generalist/Business Partner role including, performance management, change management, and employee communications
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Empathetic, vulnerable and passionate about driving the right business outcomes
  • Expert in handling employee relations issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills; a role model for the use of the concepts and skills we teach and exceptional commitment to our Core Values
  • Strong Project/Program Management Skills
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization
  • Team building and team development capabilities
  • Experience working with exempt and nonexempt employees
  • Experience working with remote employees is a plus!
