We are seeking an entrepreneurial, quick-thinking, pragmatic attorney to join our growing legal team.  This individual will report to the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial and will work with a team of lawyers responsible for the negotiation, execution and all requisite legal support for commercial deals, product and strategic initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and support contract negotiations with strategic partners on complex commercial and technology matters
  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on a variety of technology and commercial agreements, including terms governing our advertising technology solutions, platform vendor and data agreements, online terms of service and other technology agreements
  • Work closely with internal clients across the business to provide legal support, proactively identify issues, and share potential concerns and solutions in supporting commercialization of our products and services
  • Provide legal support for the company’s privacy, data, and security initiatives as they relate to technology and commercial agreements
  • Help to improve contracting processes and management, including developing internal policies regarding the same
  • Drive and support other special projects, including in connection with company policies and protocols, requests for information, and marketing

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 3 – 6 years practicing in a top law firm and/or in-house legal department with relevant transactional experience. 
  • Prior technology experience is a plus. Other useful areas of experience include: digital advertising, data/privacy, and intellectual property 
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing sound, practical advice under tight deadlines
  • Works well independently and with a highly collaborative team, with proven ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Self-motivated, nimble and able to learn quickly, strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Business-oriented and creative problem solver
  • Exhibits natural leadership qualities in being a team player yet comfortable making decisions and interacting with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Energized by working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
  • Licensed to practice law in California or New York (member of the bar or Registered In-House Counsel)
