About Team & About Role:

This Senior Revenue Manager position provides an opportunity to be part of a team that helps shape revenue policies. You will serve as an expert in representing the revenue team for assessment of accounting treatments across various avenues such as complicated product offerings associated with the company’s SaaS transformation.

Someone who will thrive in this role will have in-depth technical revenue accounting knowledge of ASC 606, excellent operational knowledge, goal driven mindset, be “hands on” and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in monthly accounting close activities and deliverables in NetSuite and ARM (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics and reporting)
  • Review contracts and modifications to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 606
  • Perform routine and ad hoc calculations and analyses including but not limited to SSP, SKU usage, variable considerations, rebates/discounts
  • Understand related sales programs to ensure that appropriate reserves are established.
  • Strong understanding of accounting for commissions in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards, including under ASC-606.
  • Oversee Commission accounting per ASC 606
  • Establish and document the commission process and identify relevant key controls to ensure accurate accounting of commissions paid
  • Prepare or review the monthly reconciliations related to revenue and commission accounting
  • Work cross functionally in understanding the process of new offering introductions, routes to markets, and complex areas of revenue accounting focus.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices by effectively partnering with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
  • Drive revenue related system implementations and review user acceptance testing results
  • Driving strategic projects into the execution phase, partnering with teams across the organization
  • Prepare schedules to support the revenue reporting process.
  • Assist in external audits including preparing supporting schedules.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-launch validations to ensure seamless system implementation of new products and services.
  • Participate in or manage ad-hoc projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with excellent understanding of revenue accounting rules (ASC 606) and relevant revenue experience including 4 years of Big 4 public accounting preferred. 
  • Experience with financial systems, NetSuite, Blackline, Tableau, and SFDC a plus. Strong Excel skills.
  • Accounting Experience with high technology clients in the Hardware, Software and/or SaaS space a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and verbal / written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, team player and able to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • The ability to guide a team, project manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to undertake any and all projects in order to support your teammates and improve the overall effectiveness of the function.
