Marketplaces UX Team:

Adevinta owns Marketplace products across several geographical locations including Spain, Italy, France, Tunisia, Mexico and more.  The UX Research Chapter team is responsible for working alongside the marketplace teams to help support their research needs across their brands. The research needs can range from validation testing to strategic research that directly influences the product roadmap. In addition to the practical research, the candidate will help enable the marketplace sites to execute research themselves through the alignment and sharing of research best practices.

As an integral part of the end-to-end process from concept to production, you will be working with designers, product managers and stakeholders in Marketplaces sites across Adevinta to define UX guidelines and recommendations for GDPR and ePrivacy. This role is one where strong UX research knowledge and communication skills are needed to bring expertise into the product and engineering teams. Autonomy and flexibility to set research processes, methodology and tools, but also to work collaboratively with our solid international research community, adapting methods to international markets.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of usability and user experience principles
  • Expert understanding of qualitative user research methodologies, their benefits, costs, time frames and suitability to different stages of development as well as a good grounding in quantitative methods
  • Be the driving force of user research by identifying research needs on the teams, planning, defining, conducting and reporting findings of all conducted research
  • Be hands on conducting different types of user research in different countries including lab and field based research as well as expert methods such as heuristic evaluations and walkthroughs
  • Hands on management and planning with external vendors doing UX research for us
  • Ability to work in an Agile, lean environment with quick iterative research
  • Working with designers to ensure that user data / research findings are incorporated into design and implementation (in an iterative manner, from first concepts through to release and after)
  • Making sure that the findings of user research help inform the business strategy, engineering / product road maps and data analytics team
  • Ability to work closely with data analytics team to synthesise both the quantitative data provided by them with the qualitative data from UX to form strong hypothesis for design, research and engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in UX research or related field
  • Educational background in HCI or social science with an emphasis on research (or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are an absolute must with an ability to present and summarise information to diverse audiences
  • Experience of qualitative and quantitative research including user testing and focus groups
  • Strong background in UX research across products and platforms
  • Proven ability to work with engineering teams and advocate for the User
  • Ability to brainstorm, sketch ideas or wireframes is a plus
  • Experience working with research tools such as Google Analytics, UserZoom, Hotjar, Morae (or similar)
