Student Driven Digital Portfolios

Our Growth Mindset (The Mission):
Think back on your time in school and a project or experience that got you fired up, curious, and motivated to try your best.  Can you remember one? If you’re like us, there are some projects we remember decades later -- those times when we were so engaged in what we were doing that we couldn’t help but learn.
Seesaw is a learning platform that brings educators, students and families together to deepen student learning. Teachers design and facilitate powerful learning experiences, students create, reflect, collaborate and make their learning visible, and families actively support and celebrate student learning. Seesaw is used by millions of K-12 students in over 75% of the schools in the U.S.

The Curriculum (Your Role):
We are looking for a self-driven, detail oriented QA Engineer to join our growing team. Your role will be crucial to delivering a high quality product with top notch experience to millions of students. As Seesaw’s product continues to grow, you’ll use your expert testing knowledge to foster best QA practices and help push the quality and efficacy of our releases.

Your Classmates (The Team):
You’ll be the quality champion on one of our product teams, (1) our core "learning loop" used by teachers, families, and students, (2) our paid product for schools, or (3) our messaging service. We're a small team and you'll have plenty of opportunities to work closely with all other engineers, PMs, and Designers on our broader product and engineering team.

Subject Matter (Your Responsibilities):

  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Product to develop, own, and execute test strategies for new features and functionality
  • Lead testing efforts for releases and product launches; this includes executing test plans across mobile and web platforms, organizing ad-hoc testing sessions, and coordinating the launch schedule with the team
  • Drive bug prioritization of web/mobile releases and customer reported issues
  • Develop a deep understanding of our product
  • Translate intricate customer use cases into effective test cases

Prerequisites (The Requirements):

  • 2+ years of experience testing software across multiple platforms such as web and mobile
  • Direct experience in developing, documenting, executing test plans and test cases; reporting bugs for complex features; and testing different parts of the web stack
  • Passionate about delivering quality products with great user experience for our students, teachers, and admins
  • Strong analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and enjoys solving problems
