Summary

The Vehicle Dynamics Modeling & Simulation Engineer provides modeling and simulation engineering support for vehicle, system and subsystem design efforts involving vehicle dynamics, multi-body dynamics and road loads simulations. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Utilize various modeling and simulation software, including ADAMS/Car, ADAMS/View, AMESim and Matlab/Simulink to support the development of vehicle chassis, suspension, steering, brakes, and other vehicle systems as required.
  • Provide feasibility and optimization studies for proposed vehicle or component designs
  • Analyze simulation results to draw actionable conclusions and compose technical reports
  • Perform model validation and correlation based on available data to assure accurate replication of vehicle behavior 
  • Provide prompt modeling and simulation support to ensure program schedules are met 
  • Assist in planning, execution and analysis of physical tests to verify accuracy of model predictions
  • Perform sensitivity analyses, quantify uncertainty, identify model limitations

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Vehicle dynamics and / or multi-body dynamics modeling experience 
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Direct experience conducting automotive tests on road for vehicle dynamics analysis
  • Knowledge of flexible body dynamics and control theory 
  • Familiarity utilizing High Performance Computing (HPC) and programming languag
