The notifications platform team mission is to provide our engineers with a solid notification infrastructure, that is reliable, observable and scalable. You will work with product teams making sure they have access to the right notifications primitives and that they are able to self-diagnose and correct most issues. You will help ensure notifications sent from our merchants to their customers end up in the inbox, and that merchants can easily tell phishing emails from legitimate emails from Shopify.
Ensure inbox deliverability for various types of messages, including transactional messages, promotional messages, and notifications
Continually audit and propose improvements to our IP strategy
Investigate, diagnose and remediate deliverability issues by working with customers, internal teams, ISPs, and anti-spam vendors
Monitor and improve the reputation of our sending infrastructure
Mitigate blacklist issues at reputable anti-spam vendors in a timely manner
Work with product management and engineering to optimize product features for deliverability and compliance including MTA configuration changes
Advise and help manage the relationship with 3rd party email deliverability providers
Relevant experience for the role:
An expert on all things email reputation and deliverability
Knowledge of basic programming and general linux administration
Familiarity with Splunk, Ruby, Rails, Golang and Kubernetes will help you hit the ground running. If some of this tech is new to you, that's OK! We know not everyone will come in fully familiar with this stack, and we provide support to learn on the job.
