Sila Nanotechnologies seeks a creative, diligent, and forward-thinking leader to build teams to design and implement production processes for the next generation of battery materials. As an experienced leader, you will leverage your personal, scientific and industrial toolkit to provide deliverables to material development, capital projects and production Process engineering within the larger Process engineering team.  We research first principles, develop new materials, design and qualify processes for pilot and commercial scale, and continually support and improve our manufacturing capability.  Our team is our strength.  Help make it even better.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hire and develop talented process engineers
  • For direct reports - collaboratively develop goals, coordinate and track progress of plans, allocate roles and responsibilities, and navigate challenges and roadblocks
  • Generate and evolve technical knowledge for a process set which may include mechanical, conversion and/or deposition processes
  • Lead knowledge and deliverable creation for technical projects
  • Set standards for, and review, technical deliverables for process modeling, process design, tool specification/qualification, process development/qualification and production process engineering
  • Identify and articulate details that drive process outcomes
  • Proactively identify future needs and propose and implement solutions
  • Improve group technical and non-technical workflows

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering degree with 10+ years of process engineering experience
  • Five years of technical management experience at an established company
  • Demonstrated history of helping people excel
  • Familiar with materials, chemistry, equipment and statistical process control
  • Desire to teach, work with a team, and also have ability to solve problems alone
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and eager to create structure

GOOD TO HAVE

  • Technical expertise in more than one of the process types described above
  • Participation on a major capital project team from conception to construction
  • Novel material discovery experience
  • Production support experience in an operating facility
