Product Manager, Content Creation

Smule’s mission is to connect people all over the world through the joy of making music at
massive social scale.  On a typical day, our users sing or play around 25 million songs, often
together.  We’re looking for a seasoned product manager to help users create content and
leverage both inside and outside our products.


 
Role / Responsibilities
● Drive cross-functional teams to develop a deep understanding of users’ content
preferences on Smule and the creation of performances
● Identify key opportunities to improve user singing experience singing and features to
make performances sharable on social media
● Develop requirements for new content features, products, and services, working with
stakeholders and partners across the global business
● Prioritize content discovery initiatives and translate them into an executable product
roadmap
● Own and drive product development of content discovery features end-to-end: ideation,
design, implementation, launch, retrospective, etc.
● Closely work with other product managers to form broader product strategy and priorities
for the company
● Experience with video players and content APIs highly desired

 

Requirements
● 3+ years of product management experience
● 1+ years of product management experience building consumer-facing products
● Work daily with a global team spread between San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Sofia,
Bulgaria
● Strong quantitative orientation - uses data and metrics to make sound product decisions;
experience defining and directing product initiatives based upon quantitative info and
qualitative feedback
● Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with
demonstrated ability to work effectively with business and technical people

● Can communicate complex topics in a simple, effective manner to stakeholders and
partners
● Supports the team to recognize and learn from failures and successes
● Experience with audio/visual technologies
