Position Overview:

StepStone is looking for a detail-oriented individual who will work for a team that supports the Portfolio Analytics & Reporting (“SPAR”), Investor Relations, and Fund Accounting teams in collecting and managing data and the flow of documents for numerous private market investments.  The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of investments and private market activities.  Opportunities for advancement after first year of service. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the StepStone Reporting Inbox by processing all emails received on a daily basis, gathering associated information from third party providers (including APIs); logging received documents in StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics & Reporting software platform (Omni); and creating and storing electronic files of all data received
  • Providing strict and timely follow up on all communications and adhering to SPAR department procedures
  • Reviewing numerous electronic documents and adhering to a precise file naming convention system
  • Assisting with the maintenance of Omni, including updating the database for new investments, investors and contacts
  • Assisting with the management of the StepStone Investor Portal by uploading documents and responding to client inquiries and requests
  • Supervising and reconciling the Power BI cash flow log of all investment cash flow activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinating with fellow team members around the globe to meet SPAR mission objectives
  • Assisting the overall SPAR team on expanded scope projects and tasks


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or business preferred
  • Prior private equity, investment banking, planning and analysis, or research experience a plus
  • In lieu of financial services experience, 3 years of legal experience as a paralegal, legal records clerk or records manager with experience identifying complex legal documents and managing large volumes of evidentiary discovery will be considered - corporate law experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail oriented environment
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft SharePoint a plus
  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence and adaptability
  • Follow up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail are essential
