About this role

Imagine yourself embedded on a small team of other web, iOS, and Android engineers, product managers, and designers, iterating on new ideas that all point toward growing our community of athletes. As a senior web engineer, you will work on our growth team on user acquisition, activation, and retention to build the strongest community of inspired athletes worldwide.

You need to have full-stack software development experience with a passion for front-end work. The role is pure growth and requires an extensive background of testing ideas, driving top-of-the-funnel traffic, optimizing landing page experiences, and developing web and app experiences that increase signups, activation, and user retention. We use Strava’s unique dataset on runs and rides to build new experiences that attract people to sign up because we deliver something useful to them. You should have a deep experience with A/B testing product ideas at a large scale with ability to analyze test results against a core metric to determine success. All of our work focuses on increasing MAU.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new web experiences focused on the bringing something useful to athletes
  • Optimize content on Strava landing pages to drive signups
  • Work with Growth PM on tactics like search engine optimization
  • A/B test and analyze everything
  • Expand Strava’s growth and experimentation process
  • Create viral growth

 What we look for

  • Strong Ruby, JS experience
  • Demonstrated design and UX sensibility with examples of front-end work
  • Search engine optimization
  • Data-driven, data-enthusiast
  • Be curious, social, and creative, striving to understand an athlete’s behavior
  • Have experience with growth tools such as Optimizely and Apptimize
