Founded by Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg in 2015, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is a new kind of philanthropy that’s leveraging technology to help solve some of the world’s toughest challenges – from eradicating disease, to improving education, to reforming the criminal justice system. Across three core Initiative focus areas of Science, Education and Justice and Opportunity, we’re pairing engineering with grant making, impact investing, policy work, and movement building, to help build an inclusive, just and healthy future for everyone.

Our success is dependent on building teams that include people from different backgrounds and experiences who can challenge each other's assumptions with fresh perspectives. To that end, we look for a diverse pool of applicants including those from historically marginalized groups — women, people with disabilities, people of color, formerly incarcerated people, people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or gender nonconforming, first and second generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
Develop, build and nurture partnerships with Initiative heads, managers and employees
Provide guidance and strategic direction on organizational design to ensure that CZI is building the people infrastructure to sustain the organization for the long term
Be a coach and mentor that relates well with others, listens effectively and can build rapport with a diverse workforce -- all in the spirit of helping employees at all levels develop
Identify and build programs and scaleable processes across the following areas: compensation, benefits, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, diversity, equity, inclusion, and learning & development
Contribute to building and scaling our growing organization as a stakeholder in our Workday implementation
Be a leader, strong communicator, influencer with unquestioned integrity
Utilize people-related data to aid in strategic decision making; develop key metrics to measure employee engagement, performance, and retention
Be experienced working with diverse teams in order to build an environment that promotes equity and inclusion
12+ years' experience as a HR Business Partner or HR leadership role with experience working in a rapidly scaling organization
Experience identifying, building and scaling HR programs across compensation, benefits, performance management and learning & development
Experience using and presenting data to make decisions
Strong communication and influencing skills
Experience working with and resolving employee relations issues
Experience managing cross functionally
Deep passion about accelerating social progress and excited to work collaboratively with a team of mission-driven scientists, academics, community activists and technologists at CZI to help build a brighter future for everyone.

WHO WE ARE The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, founded by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan in December 2015, is a new kind of philanthropic organization that brings together world-class engineering, grant-making, impact investing, policy, and advocacy work.
