The Democratic National Committee’s Tech team is hiring an IT Help Desk Manager to lead our on-site support staff! Someone who can ensure that the Democratic National Committee runs smoothly from a technical perspective, and makes sure our staff can fight to win elections in every zip code. If you have a passion to change the world, you’ll find a remarkably rewarding job, and people that you couldn't be happier to work with.
Who we are
The Tech team is a small, diverse team that provides the technology used by candidates and organizers in all 50 states and all 3,413 counties across the United States to analyze data, organize campaigns, raise money, and get out the vote on election day.
But there’s more to do. So we’re hiring product managers, engineers, researchers, designers, security experts, IT professionals, and data scientists who can use user-centered design and rapid iteration to develop a rich technology ecosystem for progressives—building tools ourselves as well as partnering with other companies and organizations.
Do you want to …
Secure the future of our country? Right now a lot is at stake in our country and our team has a huge opportunity to make a real difference. We favor progressive, cutting-edge technologies such as Okta, GSuite, Chromebooks, and security keys to keep our staff safe and productive!
Work with amazing people? We’re building a diverse, distributed team, hiring the best people we can wherever they are—alumni from past Presidential campaigns working out of DC and New York, experienced product developers from the SF Bay Area, and more.
Never stop learning? There are people who know about politics and people who know about technology and a few who have figured out some things about how to combine the two, but we are blazing a lot of new trails and you should be comfortable exploring and learning from everyone you can.
You will …
Manage the day to day activities of our Help Desk staff and advocate documentation to ensure our policies, workflows and technical information are kept up to date.
Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure costs remain under control and services are not interrupted.
Manage long-term projects from start to finish, ensuring we don't get caught up in the day to day tasks.
Provide metrics and reports on team efforts, and strengthen the team's ability to triage and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Communicate effectively with clients from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Provide leadership and support for events, such as All-Staff meetings, press conferences, and more.
This is a senior role and we’re definitely looking for someone with Help Desk management experience but don’t require previous experience in politics. If you are coming from industry, however, be aware that some things are different in the world of politics: while we've done some budget hacking so we can be competitive when it comes to salaries we know we can’t beat Google or Facebook. On the other hand, you might legit help save the world.

About The Democratic Party
Since 1848, the Democratic National Committee has been the home of the Democratic Party, the oldest continuing party in the United States.
Today we are millions of supporters strong, fighting for progress and helping elect Democrats across the country to state government, Congress, and the White House.
There are several core beliefs that tie our party together: Democrats believe that we're greater together than we are on our own—that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. Our party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those at the top.
That's why Democrats are working to make progress on issues like job creation, equal pay, education, health care, and clean energy.
