As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Voleon, you will work side-by-side with researchers, traders, and other engineering staff to design, develop, and maintain predictive systems that trade continuously in global markets. You will be responsible for building large-scale distributed systems and data pipelines that implement machine learning models in production. This role is a means to make a difference: you will leverage your experience in applied ML technologies to build foundational tools that accelerate our future research and development efforts, as well as bring new ideas into a rapidly growing firm.  


  • Develop extensible tools and frameworks to accelerate model development
  • Implement and integrate predictive models into production systems
  • Foster engineering consistency and standards within the Research group
  • Develop and maintain complex data pipelines and conduct data analysis
  • Supervise, understand, and remediate subtle data quality issues in both production and research
  • Partner in the development of new trading strategies and green-field research
  • Act as a technical leader for both research and engineering staff


  • Strong CS fundamentals and at least five years of industrial coding experience in languages such as Python or R
  • Experience building machine learning systems in a distributed setting at massive scale
  • Expertise solving ambiguous problems through data analysis
  • Demonstrated competence in math or related quantitative fields
  • Proficiency in managing complex data pipelines
  • Experience with numerical computation libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, DataTables, and TensorFlow
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics or related fields
