Voleon is a technology company that applies state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to real-world problems in finance. For more than a decade, we have led our industry and worked at the frontier of applying machine learning to investment management. We have become a multibillion dollar asset manager, and we have ambitious goals for the future.

Your colleagues will include internationally recognized experts in machine learning research as well as highly experienced technology and finance professionals. The people who shape our company come from other backgrounds, too, including concert music performance, humanitarian aid, opera singing, sports writing, and BMX racing. You will be part of a team that loves to succeed together.

In addition to our enriching and collegial working environment, we offer highly competitive compensation and benefits packages, technology talks by our experts, a beautiful modern office, daily catered lunches, and more.

As a Business Strategy Director, you will report directly to the COO. You will carry out strategic and operational projects, many of which come from the CEO or the COO. This role is a means to make a difference: you will engage in some of our highest-priority strategic and operational efforts, and you will convert ideas into tangible results.

  • Share findings with colleagues and build institutional knowledge
  • Proactively structure projects, plan execution, and see projects through to completion.
  • Communicate clearly about projects and ensure transparency
  • Act as a negotiator in dealings with external parties
  • Work extensively with colleagues throughout the organization, and foster clear communication and collaboration
  • Generate, consider, and incorporate different perspectives, particularly those which are creative
  • Execute projects in a thoughtful and timely manner, with an eye toward generating exceptional results
  • Identify ways to set goals and to measure the results of strategic and operational work
  • Institute learning mechanisms and feedback systems for projects

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in strategy-related roles
  • A track record of excellence in structuring ideas, translating them into projects, seeing those projects through to completion, and measuring outcomes
  • Experience working closely with executive management and creating executive-level communications
  • Experience (and success) in negotiating is a plus
  • Eagerness to work with diverse teams
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Authorization to work in the United States
