About our internship program:
As a thredUP summer intern, you will be given a firsthand glimpse at what it’s like to work at the leading online secondhand apparel marketplace. During the 8-12 week program, you will tackle projects alongside our world-class team, with the opportunity to make a real impact on thredUP’s business. Interns must be able to commit to a full-time schedule (40 hours).

The brand marketing team at thredUP focuses on executing our brand strategy, working relentlessly to bring magic to the mad logic of e-commerce at every touch point. We are looking for a hungry, driven Brand Marketing Intern to work closely with our Organic Growth Manager, and Marketing Coordinator to bring the right stories, to the right people at the right time!The Brand Marketing Intern will play a key and impactful role in the planning and execution of social and content marketing on thredUP’s owned and earned channels. We’re constantly testing new things, challenging ourselves to be the best social marketers in the biz, and surfacing up insights and findings to the larger team to help inform improvements in the marketing, product, and customer service organizations as a whole. We’re looking for an individual who isn’t afraid to fail, who will speak UP, and who is ready to be held accountable for making a huge impact on our social media, content, and communications campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Social media marketing optimization and execution. Including but not limited to content ideation and executing on social media seeding strategies for large campaigns.
  • Growing our Instagram “earned media” a.k.a. our hashtag real estate.  Parallel pathing that with growing our UGC and influencer-generated content pipeline.
  • Vetting instagram influencers and bloggers according to engagement levels and  brand fit, coordinating with influencers, seeing through a collaboration from initial outreach to invoice.
  • Engaging with our audience on Instagram natively
  • Incentivizing and training our audience to create on-brand, channel-optimized content
  • Content marketing execution through ownership over merchandising and seeding the posts on our content hub, thrEDIT
  • Miscellaneous brand marketing tasks and projects, as needed and according to candidate’s interest

Requirements

  • Marketing knowledge/ experience preferred   
  • Ecommerce knowledge/ experience preferred
  • Thrives in a fast-paced working environment    
  • Passionate about fashion, recommerce, and challenging the fashion and retail status quo
  • Capable and confident writer    
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized
