As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Tile, you will work closely with product managers and software developers to guide the quality of new and existing features.  You will perform hands-on testing of our Mobile and hardware products, and communicate the results to the team in the form of bugs and quality reports.  An important part of this role is to help guide product quality as Tile integrates with numerous 3rd party products. This is an exciting opportunity to be exposed to a broad variety of cutting-edge consumer electronics products and to master new emerging technologies.

*Candidate must be located in US (Remote) or Vancouver, B.C.

What you'll be doing:

  • Perform manual testing, the scope of which will encompass all functionalities of services as a prequel to automation
  • Own projects, from requirement and design reviews to creating a test plan and performing manual testing
  • Partner and communicate with product management and engineering teams to develop and execute test plans for iOS and Android based Tile features
  • Work closely with software developers in the release cycle process
  • Identify, validate, report and track product defects and improvements
  • Ensure that Tile products ship with an exceptional level of quality
  • Continuously learn product knowledge and optimize testing processes

How we work:

  • Efficient - Agile - We have daily standups, work in 3 week sprints, followed by a retrospective. We expect great communication, organization, and focus
  • Adaptable - Things change quickly and our team is very collaborative and adaptable
  • We care - Tile is expanding and this comes with some growing pains. We are constantly identifying gaps, calling out processes that aren’t scaling with the business and we sometimes have to take on extra responsibilities

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of manual testing experience
  • Understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes
  • Experience with writing and executing test plans
  • Excellent communication skills and can work unsupervised
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence, or equivalent
  • Experience with testing mobile applications (iOS/Android)

Nice to have:

  • Proficient in Java, C# or similar programming languages.
  • Experience developing high quality test strategies and test automation
  • Experience with at least one automation testing tool (Selenium, Appium, Cypress or similar tools)
  • Experience with bluetooth technology
  • Experience with HTTP Proxy tools, Postman, Push notification tools, Xcode, Android Studio, ADB tools, Jenkins
  • Experience with API testing

About Tile

Tile is best known today for its market-leading Bluetooth finders with over 35 million units sold and ~5M items located daily.  That said, Tile has recently expanded the devices that are findable by its platform by embedding its software into third-party products.  

Over 30 billion Bluetooth devices are shipping over the next 5 years and each of these can be Tile-enabled with a software update. Partnerships have been announced with HP for laptops, leading audio headset OEMs like Bose and SkullCandy, and several others.
