Tinder is on the search for an experienced Director of Marketing Data Science to join their team to help support the Marketing department and the company’s growth efforts.  Reporting to our SVP of Finance & Analytics and having a strong daily working relationship with the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Marketing Data Science will build out our efforts to develop a quantitative framework to understand and measure our growth KPIs & efficacy of marketing spend.

In this job you will:

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, finance, engineering, and product to analyze marketing data, identify trends, implement optimizations, and define strategic initiatives
  • Support the CMO and Marketing organization (both domestic and international) to develop recommendations for changes to investment and marketing strategy based on quantitative analyses
  • Drive marketing analytical insights by performing ongoing ad-hoc analyses to evaluate the efficiency of our marketing spend, building reporting infrastructure, and making budgeting recommendations to optimize growth
  • Support our Direct Marketing team to understand campaign level performance metrics
  • Build models to better understand the value and churn behavior of our users
  • Master and own the analytical understanding of customer behavior and business
  • Identify and grow a team to support these efforts

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of analytics experience with demonstrated expertise in business or marketing analytics
  • Strong, clear communication, experience working with senior leadership
  • Management experience of high-performing data scientists / analysts with the ability to prioritize numerous workstreams across multiple stakeholders and direct reports
  • Proficiency with SQL required
  • Strong Python/NumPy/PANDAS skills a plus
  • Knowledge of statistics, specifically experimental design and analysis
  • Familiarity with common KPIs, metrics, and growth experiments
  • Experience with consumer mobile products preferred
