Trainline for Business team is a technology services business with a specific focus on providing retailing and booking technology and services to the rail industry and business customers. The team provides retailing products to eight of the UK train operating companies (TOCs), as well as booking technology to Travel Management Companies and Corporate customers. We have ambitious growth plans to be achieved through a combination of acquiring new clients and growing existing client partnerships.
We are looking to hire a Project Manager to support the delivery of several major development projects. The successful candidate will need to work closely with the customer, Product Owner and various internal stakeholders including both offshore and onshore development teams to ensure successful delivery of a variety of projects on time and to budget.
What a Project Manager does in the Trainline for Business team…
-        Stakeholder management across multiple projects
-        Resource management across multiple projects, in partnership with Development Managers
-        Maintaining communication in all directions especially Account Managers, clients and development teams on key projects
-        Risk management and issue escalation
-        Help Account Managers in budget planning and management
-        Working with development team to define the solution to the business problems
-        Overall responsibility for the project budget and on time delivery
Key Characteristics we would like to see in candidates…       
-        Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills including external clients
-        Should be open to visiting client premises for various project meetings
-        Proven technical project management delivery track record, with agile development teams
-        Pro-active, drives change, asks the right questions
-        Sufficiently technical to understand the work being managed and ensure all required actions are picked up and completed
-        Gets up to speed quickly - including the relevant technical aspects of the project (e.g. if on-boarding new technology)
-        Has understanding of multiple governance frameworks plus an appreciation of when and how to adapt them to the work/team
-        Able to operate effectively in a highly dynamic environment with multiple concurrent initiatives and adapt plans to accommodate changing business priorities
-        Agile methodology knowledge advantageous (e.g. Scrum)
-        AWS/Cloud knowledge advantageous
-        Prior experience of running workshops and various other development meetings
-        Ability to work with various clusters and Product Owners to ensure the delivery of the projects
