About the Position

Our DevOps team is searching for an uncommonly talented Staff DevOps Engineer. You will work as part of a team responsible for designing and supporting reliable, scalable, highly available, performant, secure and observable 24/7 production infrastructure environment including product releases, implementation, production incident support, patches, upgrades, and automation. 

How You'll Succeed Here

  • You will collaborate with your peers from DevOps and other engineering teams to architect, build and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure
  • You’ll be able to exhibit mastery of at least one core infrastructure component: networking, storage, container management, security, etc
  • You understand TuneIn’s application ecosystem and the relationship to our infrastructure
  • You feel comfortable with designing solutions and seeing them into production and beyond monitoring, load testing, performance tuning, and documentation
  • You understand the importance of uptime and reliability and participate in on-call duties for production systems
  • You show a strong sense of ownership and will find new opportunities for infrastructure improvements. Cloud container orchestration (Kubernetes(EKS), Docker, ECS)
  • Experience with “infrastructure as a code” approach (Terraform)

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 5+ years of cloud infrastructure management experience (AWS)
  • Deep experience in some of the following areas: Cloud container orchestration (Kubernetes(EKS), Docker, ECS)
  • Experience with “infrastructure as a code” approach (Terraform)
  • Data operations (RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, SQL, etc)
  • CI/CD technologies (Spinnaker, TeamCity)
  • Networking (VPC, VPN, NAT)
  • Security (IAM, roles, groups, permissions)
  • Compute (capacity planning, scalability, cluster/container management, etc)
  • Site reliability (Datadog, SumoLogic)
  • Familiarity with programming and/or scripting languages
  • Excellent debugging, problem solving, and testing skills
  • Dedication to excellent customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to tailor the message to your audience
  • Ability to mentor other engineers on best practices
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation
